This blog is about 3 stories.

1. The start-up year for a very different sort of Graduate School of Education. It's a tiny subset of...
2. ...The much larger, national effort to transform teaching and teachers. That is a big subset of...
3. ...A multi-kajillion-dollar effort to improve the ludicrous odds (7% or so) of a poor kid ever getting a college diploma.

Chili Advice

Posted: January 5th, 2013 | Author: | | 3 Comments »

We had an MTR chili cook off last year. Stacy outpaced Orin, Laura, and Randall.

I’m going to enter this year. Here’s what I need: a chili recipe tip that brings home the gold. I’m playing to win.

Some context. Orin’s already put his strategy on the table. He’s gonna dial up the heat. Plus he learned from last year’s feedback: it won’t be watery this time. Meanwhile, Big Tuba McCue may enter a vegetarian version. I can’t imagine that winning, but he might snag some votes from vegetarians who won’t taste the other entrants. Although I can still imagine his losing to: plain bread.

Do not put your great idea in the comments section. Randall in particular is likely to swoop in and use it for his own chili. Email me.

JG, it’s harder to cheat than I’d guessed. I’ve got 5 competing recipe ideas already.
